They do fantastic work teaching children of all ages how to stay safe around dogs and we are very proud to continue to support them as they grow.

The Kids Safe With Dogs programmes focus mainly on teaching children the 3 Golden Rules:

1 - Always Ask
This is the first, and most important, rule of dog safety. Children should be taught that they ALWAYS ask permission from the owner before they touch a dog (parents should also do this!)

2 - Where To Touch A Dog
The safest place to touch a dog is the back and the sides, teach your children not to go anywhere near the head (the sharp end!)

3 - Stand Like A Tree
When children get scared they often get tempted to run and this can cause more problems as the dog may think it is now a game of chase and the situation escalates, instead children should be taught to stand like a tree

You can find out much more information on their website about the 3 Golden Rules and many other resources that are available to help teach children how to stay safe around dogs. There is also the option of haveing them come into your school/daycare/college/community group to do a session on dog safety
